About the Role
It is the responsibility of the Billing Specialist to submit claims to both private and Indiana State funding sources on behalf of Partners in Autism. The Billing Specialist will comply with all Partners in Autism and industry policies, procedures, and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain Partners in Autism’s company culture standards and best practices
Obtain referrals from providers as required by insurance companies
Verify client eligibility and benefits and obtain pre-authorizations from insurance
Review ABA client notes for accuracy and completeness
Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software
Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
Identify and bill secondary insurances
Check insurance websites for changes in policies that may affect billing codes/rates
Receive monthly Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) reports/timesheets from Employment Specialists and check them for accuracy
File VR claims on the VR portal
File Waiver Service claims through the Indiana Medicaid Portal
Maintain accurate and updated records
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma, with some college preferredÂ
Must pass a thorough background check
Must have the ability to work with modern technology/office equipment, use current operating systems, and be able to communicate effectively with technology
Must complete all company orientations and Health & Safety Training Â
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to do regular physical activities as required in an office setting, which may include physical bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 lbs, and sitting for long periods of time.
